Pathway: Hospitality & Tourism

Are you interested in a career in the hospitality field?

Join us at ECTEC to explore your options. ProStart is a career-based high school program, developed by the National Restaurant Association as a way to give high school students a head start in the field of Hospitality, Management, and Culinary Arts.  Students learn basic kitchen skills, more advanced culinary skills, and business management. 

Dual Enrollment is available through South Louisiana Community College for a Technical Degree and   Associate of Applied Science Culinary Arts and Occupations for those students who declare Fast Forward. 
Certifications:

  •  ServSafe Food Handler

  • ServeSafe Manager

  • ProStart Certificate of Achievement

Open to grades 9-12 (Fast Forward students, as well as Juniors and Seniors, have priority).
